Welcome to The Outpost at Birch Creek — a family-owned vacation retreat just one mile from Birch Creek State Park and the scenic shores of Lake Somerville. Whether you’re planning a peaceful solo escape or a lively family reunion, our cozy barno known as The Outpost, our RV spots called Basecamp Bays, and our soon-to-be cottage The Hideout offer a clean, quiet, and welcoming space to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories.
Lovingly maintained by Gene and Angie Brown, The Outpost at Birch Creek is more than just a place to stay — it’s a place to feel at home. We take pride in the details: thoughtful amenities, well-kept grounds, and personalized touches that make your visit unforgettable. Our mission is to provide a peaceful setting where families can gather, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of nature.
While we kindly ask that you leave pets at home, we’re happy to assist with extras to enhance your stay — including a rental set of two camp chairs and a cooler. We also offer catering and concierge services to make your visit seamless and enjoyable. Whether you’re into birdwatching, hiking, lake adventures, or simply soaking in the quiet, there’s something here for everyone.
We hope your family enjoys The Outpost at Birch Creek as much as ours does — and we look forward to being part of your next great escape.
